This is a copy of a Victorian corset made with steel stays and a laced back.  It was made in red silk dupion with black coutil lining.  It does make your waist 2 inches smaller, but is not for the faint-hearted as they are not very comfortable to wear.  Also, you have to bear in mind that the fat you are moving around has to go somewhere and it may not be where you expect it!  The second corset was embroidered silk dupion in purple and gold.  The techniques demand accuracy in stitching, especially in making the channels for the stays.
