This client needed to have the dress shortened but wanted to retain the features down the back of the dress. She wanted a small ‘puddle’ at the back, which was pinned up using a button and loop fastening for the later part of the evening. It was a challenge to make sure the dress looked balanced, as a significant amount was taken off the length, so several of the fabric loops had to be re-structured. She was also very clear about the width of lacing required, so the sides had to be taken in to make sure the width and shape were as desired.
