Gemma had been planning her wedding for a long time, and had lots of ideas to make her day perfect. Her dress needed considerable alteration. We waited until the last minute, because she had recently had a baby and wanted to get her figure back before the final fitting. As you can see, she was very successful! I shortened the strap over the shoulder and removed the flowers which were elsewhere on the dress and put them on the shoulder strap – where they looked lovely. The bodice was adjusted to fit and the beading restored. The multi-layered skirt was adjusted to a perfect length and the asymmetrical overskirt was adjusted to sit smoothly in place over the hooped skirts. All the bridesmaids’ dresses needed bodice adjustment – but no length adjustment. Chiffon flowers were fixed to the left shoulders of the dresses to link in with the wedding dress. The children’s clothes were adjusted to fit and a little tie made for a page boy who wanted to look like his dad. Overall, a perfect day.
