Willow was going to attend her parents’ wedding in May 2016, and her mother, Mel asked me to make a dress for her daughter.  The brief was sketchy – so many of the choices were left to me.  I was told – any colour would be fine, but not too fussy with frills and bows.  So I chose a colour which is not normally associated with children.  There is a white underdress, and the main dress is jade corded lace.  I folded the ribbon across the front so that the bow would be a good size and the back, but would not be in the way across her waist.  I did some matching jade stitching on the white ribbon to finish off the dress.   The dress is zipped at the back.  On the day, she wore white leggings and shoes and a white cardi later in the day when it was colder.  She stole the show!
