Griffindor robe – Harry Potter

This little girl is a huge Harry Potter fan – but her mum could not buy the required Griffindor robe.  So, we had to make a pattern, including wand pocket, to meet her very specific requirements.  The cloak is made from black outer fabric, and is lined with claret red cotton for the Griffindor house at Hogwarts.  We purchased a Griffindor badge from the internet, which has been stitched on in the appropriate place.  There are also side pockets and a button a loop fastening at the neck.   It was tricky making sure this was the right size, because it had to be a surprise birthday present.  Mum had to take the necessary measurements and convince her daughter that she was in fact getting some new school clothes for her birthday!  Which was nearly true.
