Millie had chosen a simple dress with a boned bodice and no straps in midnight blue, which was to be worn with stunning red suede shoes. Bodice alterations were required at the sides and front to ensure that the dress was a good fit. As there are no straps, the bodice must be a snug fit – but without being tight. A grosgrain tape was put inside the dress which fitted around the bodice and the dress effectively hangs from this. This makes the fit more comfortable and secure. A bra ‘tab’ was made to tuck into the front of the bra to ensure that the dress did not gape. The chiffon skirt layers were shorted achieve the right length to allow the shoes to peep through by the correct amount.
